Baby sister...

Oh man...I just realized I haven't even written a blog about this baby...good thing she'll be here in just a few weeks and then we'll have pictures. :)
The other day while we were driving, the boys were having this conversation:
Bailey (4): Lewis! Aren't you SO excited to have a baby sister?
Lewis (almost 3): NO! I not excited, Bailey.
Bailey: Oh c'mon Lewis! It will be so fun!
Lewis: NO, Bailey. It not gonna be fun.
Bailey is clearly the optimist in the family. Lewis? Now, he's more of a realist. And a little more intuitive. I think he's realized that having a baby sister is not really going to pan out for him. We're letting Bailey live in ignorance just a little longer... :)

Full service

The other morning while getting ready to take Bailey to school, this conversation happened:

Mommy: Hey Bailey, can you go grab my shoes?
Bailey (4.5): Sure, Mommy!

Bailey (returns while carrying my shoes in a shopping bag): Here you go!
Mommy: Thanks, Buddy. That was really helpful.
Bailey (literally tipping his hat): Happy to be of service!

What's in a name?

Yesterday, Bailey had a new girl in his preschool class. When we walked in and he started to take his coat off and spotted her, he immediately gave her the once over, then the stink eye. She immediately stink eyed him back.

Bailey (4): What's your name?
New girl: ...
New girl's mom: Her name is Alison. Or you can also call her Ali.

New girl gives the stink eye to Bailey, Bailey's mom and her own mom.

New girl: I don't have a name.
New girl's mom: Yes, you do.

Bailey (obviously since she had no name, she wouldn't understand his name either): My name is BAI-LEY.

Bailey's mom to new girl's mom: Don't worry, they'll get along just fine.
