You want the what?!

Yesterday after Bailey woke up from his nap I asked him what he wanted to watch. This is how it went:

Bailey (3 1/2): I want the damn show.
Mommy: You want the what?
Bailey: The DAMN one.
Mommy: ...
Bailey: You know, Mommy the damn movie.
Mommy (thinking Ama has some 'splainin' to do): ...
Bailey: The damn Thomas show, Mommy!

*Realization hits*

Mommy: Oh you want the Thomas show about the DAM?!
Bailey: YES, Mommy, the dam movie.
Mommy: The dam Thomas is in the van so we'll have to watch something else, okay?
Bailey: Okay, Mommy.

After last week's outburst of "When the police get here, yell 'POLICE!' and then hide...we always hide when the police come."...I'm starting to think we need to childproof the TV when Ama's in charge. :)

Bloggin' Slacker!

I have been so lazy lately and haven't been blogging because I've gotten in the habit of posting the kids' antics as my status on Facebook. This probably isn't the best way to document memories in the long term sense. I promise to be a better blogger.

The kids are getting so big and they are changing so much each day. Bailey just gets more hysterical as the days go by. I don't know where he gets his dramatic flair but boy, is he dramatic! :) The other day I handed him a yogurt that he had asked for and he grabbed it and hugged it and petted it and said "oh yogurt! I've missed you *so* much! I'm *so* happy to see you! You're the best yogurt EVER!" Really? Hmmm.

Homemade lasagna...from Costco!

We enjoyed Grandma's secret recipe lasagna (it's so good, they sell it at Costco) for dinner the other night...apparently Lewis enjoyed every little bit of it. Enjoy every little bit of this cuteness:

What do you think this is? A restaurant?

The other night when I got home from work, Bailey was sitting up at the table eating his dinner.

Bailey: Mommy! I need something to drink.

Mommy: What would you like to drink, Bailey?

Bailey: Ummm...I don't know, let me check my menu (pretends to turn pages while perusing the menu)...oh yes, I'd like lemonade, please.

Mommy: I'm sorry, sir. All we have on our menu to drink is milk, chocolate milk, apple juice or water.

Bailey: Oh, thank you, sir. I'd like some apple juice, please.

Warning: Poop story ahead (but it's not gross, just funny)

Last night before bedtime Bailey was laying on the floor reading a book about scoops and diggers (his current obsession). All of the sudden he jumps up and starts running toward the front door...he got about halfway through the dining room and stops and cocks his head and says "What's that noise? I just heard somepin!" Usually when he goes through this routine, the next step is to run full out to the front door and start barking, yes barking. Tonight though, when I said "What is it, Bailey? What did you hear?" He looks at me and says "oh nevermind, Mommy. It's just my poop comin." I said "what?" (because I couldn't possibly have heard correctly) and he said "that noise was just my poop comin." Like duh. I said "do you need to go upstairs and go poop?" and he looks at me like I'm an idiot and says "yes, Mommy. That sound was my poop coming."

Oh. My. Goodness.

Polka dots...

Yesterday Bailey noticed the vast number of moles I have on my shoulder...he pointed and said "Mommy! Look at all these polka dots on here!" and then promptly stuck his finger in his mouth and while scrubbing my shoulder said "Don't worry, Mommy, I clean them off for you." Thanks, Buddy.

Time, where did you go?

Okay, first of all, a public apology to all of my friends that I've given a hard time to about waiting months between blogs (except you, Melanie because you go YEARS between blogs)...it's been two months since my last blog (that sounded a little A.A.ish but you get the picture).

Today, I took Bailey to the doctor for his three year checkup. First thing...3 YEARS?! How did THAT happen? Secondly, when we were waiting (which is what you do at the doctor's office), Bailey said to me "I'm being a very good monkey, huh Mommy?" Patience isn't exactly his middle name (wonder where he gets that?) but he was doing pretty darn good. When the lady finally came to get us (only to have us wait in the small exam room for another hour without the distraction of a fish tank or other kids), he said to her "No pokes today, okay Lady?" He wanted to get that clear right at the very beginning. I promised him he wouldn't get any shots but Mommy's word only goes so far.

He was weighed (27 lbs) and measured (35 inches) and ended up in the 3rd percentile for his weight (meaning out of 100 three-year-olds, 97 would be bigger than him) and he's in the 10th percentile for his height. In the words of his pediatrican "well, he's on the chart, he's just barely holding on to the very bottom of it." There are no concerns about his development, "he's an overachiever" (he gets that from me). :)

Our boys are growing up and getting cuter every day...Christmas is going to be a blast this year...we can't wait!
