Today I saw a church sign that said "Jesus is the boss of you." Really? That's the best evangelical marketing tactic you could come up with? Usually this same church has things like "Do you know Jesus? If not, get ready to spend eternity in hell." or something really encouraging like "Jesus won't help you if you don't repent." Gag me. Maybe I've put way too much stock in the whole concept of grace but last I checked, God's love wasn't contingent on anything. But, hey, what do I know? What with my master's degree in Religion and all that.

I'm totally NOT joking about this. A guy at my church wore a hat last Sunday that said, "Jesus is my boss". It was all I could do to stand there & talk to him with a straight face. I was thinking of you the entire time.
